Movie Ministry Notes

In 2008, I started a ministry at my church, and I named it the Men's Movie Ministry Night. About once a month, we gather in a room which is normally used by the teens. It's got a huge screen and great sound system. We watch a movie, then arrange chairs in a circle and discuss what God spoke to us through the story.

There are only two rules in choosing a movie: (1) it has to tell a story that speaks to men's hearts, and (2) no nudity. A little language isn't a problem, and violence is to be expected, but skin would cause some men to stumble, so there's zero tolerance for that.

The hope is that for discussion time, each man will share what the story meant to him, and optimally, we would have someone give a personal testimony that fits in somehow. However, to get things started, I prepare something ahead of time, including a few bible verses and a couple of points to ponder.
